This Workshop Cart Is Made From an Old Airline Beverage Cart
MythBusters famed Adam Savage got a spare drink cart on the plane, and what did he do with it? Of course, he turned it into a compact trolley for storing some of his most commonly used accessories. In this case, it was an assortment of glue, but if you want to try it, you can leave whatever you want inside.
The video above shows how Adam built his portable glue conveyor. He needed a place to store and use his hot glue guns and other adhesives to keep them from dripping onto his work surfaces, so the cart was the perfect solution without being too big or cumbersome when it was time to move it around his workplace. When he does not need it, the cart slides between two other objects along the wall or to the side until it is needed.
Of course, airline food carts are designed to stay in place even when pushed, and they are small enough to fit just about anywhere given where they need to go in the aisle. They’re actually not that hard to find online , although they range from “cheap for a garage workshop” to “ridiculously expensive,” so buy carefully. The real takeaway here is that even if you don’t need room for all of your glue on offer, an airline food cart can be a great and effective addition to your small DIY workshop .
