Set Animated GIF As Mac Wallpaper

Mac: Tired of using those boring static images as wallpaper. If you want to spice up the image a bit, GIFPaper app can set any GIF as wallpaper.

All you have to do is download GIFPaper (link to Dropbox), install the preferences panel and then go to System Preferences. In System Preferences, you will find a new GIFPaper option. Click on it, then select the GIF you want to use. It will load automatically. If you want an animated GIF to be used as your default wallpaper, you also need to add the GIFPaperAgent app to your Mac login items. Otherwise, it will revert to your regular default wallpaper when you log in again (which coincidentally is also the only way to turn it off).

However, GIFPaper is a small piece of software designed for fun, so it takes a lot of resources. If this is a problem for you, the user Reddit PopeJamal was leadership, which uses video and screen saver SaveHollywood , which consumes less resources of the processor, but it requires a little more effort. Windows users can use VLC to get the same effect.
