How to Turn Off Pop-Ups and Notifications on the Game Bar in Windows 10
If you’ve played Xbox games on Windows 10, whether through Game Pass or otherwise, there’s a good chance you will receive notifications every time you unlock an in-game achievement. But once you start getting them, they’ll keep coming – these notifications even showed up on my Windows 10 PC when I actually played on my Xbox. Luckily, if you don’t want to be bombarded with in-game achievement alerts (not to mention other game-related notifications), there is a way to turn them off.
Disable game notifications via Windows 10 game bar
The fastest way to turn off game notifications in Windows 10 is through the game bar. You can run this by pressing Windows Key + G in Windows 10.
With the game bar open on your computer, click the gear icon next to the time in the menu at the top. This will open the Game Bar settings in Windows 10.
In the preferences window, click on Notifications in the left pane to check all the alert options in the Game pane.
Now you can get rid of unnecessary warnings. Let’s start by disabling Notify Me When I Unlock Achievements , which will stop showing Xbox achievement notifications on your PC. There is another setting called Hide notifications when I play a full screen game that you can turn on if you want to keep your gameplay free from distractions.
The Game Bar app keeps asking me to submit reviews in a random way, and the best way to turn off these alerts is also on the same settings page. Disable Ask for app reviews on this device .
Finally, under the heading Xbox Social, there are tons of notification options, such as getting an alert when you receive new messages or party invitations. You can view and disable or enable them as you see fit, leaving only the notifications you really want to receive.
