YouTube Music Gets Wi-Fi-Only Streaming to Keep Your Data Safe

YouTube Music is another Google foray into streaming music. It can also use a huge chunk of your mobile data. Now the app finally lets you restrict streaming to Wi-Fi only.

The latest update added a toggle that will only allow you to stream when your phone is connected to a Wi-Fi network. Since YouTube Music can stream videos as well as songs, it can easily surpass your data limit quickly. Of course, the previous data limiting options are also available: you can enable data limiting, only HD video streaming when you’re over Wi-Fi (see above). In addition, the app has a regular toggle switch that switches between music-only and video-only modes. These are all handy options for a service that might use too much data in a short amount of time.
