Always Offer Escape When Asking for a Favor.
It might sound counterintuitive, but offering to run away when you ask someone for a favor will likely make them want to do it even more.
If you’re not careful, people can get very angry when you ask for a favor . You have to be straightforward, understanding, and even a little charming. But more importantly, you must treat him with respect. This is why Entrepreneur’s Ross McCummon suggests that it is always polite to offer an escape right after you ask someone for a favor. For example, you might say, “if you don’t have time, I understand,” or “if you’re not interested, don’t worry.”
You might think people would jump when escaping, but it actually helps you. An offer to escape is a sign of respect. Your request becomes more acceptable because you show that you value their time and opinion. Remember that a favor usually means extra work for the person you are asking for, so be polite and show them that you know about it.
