When Working With Hot Glue, Keep a Basin of Cold Water Nearby

If you’ve ever worked with hot glue, you know how badly it irritates your skin. You can’t even take it off until it cools down. Here’s a checkmark to help solve both of these problems.

It is not interesting to look at your hand in pain, as the hot glue dries slowly on the scalding skin. You can try rubbing it off, but this will only spread the burn. This is why Make’s Jordan Bunker recommends keeping a basin of cold water nearby when you need to glue a lot with hot glue. As soon as you burn yourself (and you will burn yourself), dip your hand in water and the glue will cool down almost instantly. This minimizes the burn (which means less pain) and you can remove the adhesive immediately. This is especially useful when children are using hot glue too.
