Unload Your Thoughts and Ideas With a Mind Grab Ritual

Your mind is constantly revolving around the thoughts and ideas in your head, but they are difficult to grasp and understand if you are constantly distracted. This exercise will help you unload whatever is in your mind so that you can easily evaluate it later.

Some people like to meditate when they want to clear their heads and focus, but if you prefer something a little more active, Chris Bailey of A Life of Productivity recommends a mind-grabbing ritual. Grab a notebook and pen, and then separate from all electronic devices, people, sounds, and other distractions. Only you, your thoughts and the way to capture them. Some of the things you write will be helpful and actionable ideas, others may bother you, and others may be just random thoughts. Don’t worry about what you write, just write it down on paper.

Read what is written in 15 minutes. Maybe the idea that has been gathering dust in your head finally seems to be a reality now that you see it. Maybe some of the things you worry about don’t look as bad on paper as they do in your head. Perform this ritual whenever you feel stressed, bored, or when you feel like you have a few minutes to spare. Your mind is full of good ideas to realize and thoughts to consider, but you never get to them if you don’t see them.
