Google Keep Gets a New Clip Extension, Shortcuts, and More
Google’s Notepad to sync , Keep, has added some useful features today: a Chrome extension that lets you quickly send a link or highlighted text to a new note, share to Keep on Android, and hashtag tags for linking notes together.
Click the Chrome extension button to save the link to the webpage you’re on and add a note. Or select text or an image on a page to create a new note based on it.
On Android, instead of opening Keep to create new notes, you can use the Share via menu option in the app or browser to send to Keep.
Finally, in your note, add #hasthtag to add a tag to better organize your note.
Google has also tweaked the menus in Android slightly so that similar options are grouped together.
Like the Save to Google Chrome extension , Keep clipping doesn’t crop the entire page, so it’s still not a complete replacement for apps like Pocket and Evernote. However, these are good updates if you want to use Keep not only for notes, but also to quickly save things from the Internet.
