How to Record Your Android Screen With AZ Screen Recorder

Taking screenshots of your phone is so easy that anyone can. Capturing video from the screen is a bit tricky. Here’s how to record your phone screen when you need to show someone what’s going on on your phone.

Recording your phone screen can come in handy when you want to capture a video of a game you’re playing, show someone how to complete a task on their phone, or document something strange your phone is doing. Since Lollipop, screen recording on Android just got a lot easier . To get started, you need a screen recorder app.

There is no shortage of screen recorder apps for Android, but so far the best I’ve found is AZ Screen Recorder . It does not require root, has no limit on post length, does not add watermarks and does not contain ads. Not a bad deal. After you’ve downloaded it, follow these steps:

  1. Launch AZ Screen Recorder app from the app drawer.
  2. You will see an overlay with four buttons. Tap the gear icon to customize video recording options, including recording resolution, frame rate, and bit rate. When you’re done, tap Back to return to the home screen.
  3. Open the app you want or go to the screen you want to record.
  4. Tap the red camera shutter icon in the AZ overlay. The video will start recording. Use your phone as usual until you’re ready to stop recording.
  5. When you’re done, pull down the notification shade. In the AZ notification, you can either pause or stop recording.

When you’re done, you should have a video like this:

Obviously, we cannot record the screen before we start recording (insert your own Inception bwam), but you can see in the video above how recording ends work.

When you’re done, tap the image icon in the overlay to view your recordings. You can also click the magic wand icon on one of your videos to make changes, including the following:

  • Trim or cut video: You can trim the beginning or end of the video, or cut parts in the middle. These features require the Pro version, which costs $ 3.
  • Crop video: If you want to focus on a smaller part of the video, you can use an external plugin to crop the frame down.
  • Convert to GIF: Another Pro feature, you can convert video to GIF right in the app.
  • Replace Sound: You can add your own soundtrack over the video instead of the sound from the phone itself.

Of course, while the Pro features are nice to have, none of them are strictly necessary. You can edit videos and create GIFs in a variety of other applications. However, the $ 3 donation is a small convenience fee.
