Some home maintenance projects are surprisingly affordable, while others are incredibly expensive. If you’re a new homeowner, it can be difficult to estimate how much you will be spending on maintenance each year. This infographic from HomeAdvisor shows the average cost of 57 common projects.
In addition to the national averages, the graph also shows the total range of the amount you can expect to pay for each project. Kitchen remodeling topped the list with an average cost of $ 19,920. The cheapest project was winterizing or activating a home sprinkler system, which cost an average of $ 80. A few other interesting average costs on their list:
- Install the floor: $ 2890
- Pruning or removing trees and shrubs: $ 658.
- Build a deck: $ 6,919
- Installing windows: $ 4745
