TextExpander Falls Back but They Are Still Subscription Based and You Can Do Better
TextExpander ditched its new subscription model a bit and made the text expansion program cheaper for existing users. It’s still expensive though.
When it was originally announced, the TextExpander was supposed to cost over $ 40 a year. As you’d expect, users felt a little overwhelmed by both the price hike and the switch to the subscription model. The developer is now offering a lifetime discount that makes his Life Hacker plan (which has nothing to do with us) $ 20 per year, but only if you are a current TextExpander customer. It’s still a small price to pay unless you really dive deeper into the TextExpander ecosystem or use the sync feature to use the mobile app. If you don’t, transferring your snippets to a $ 5 aText will be very easy . If you’re wondering how the developer at TextExpander Smile handled this change, be sure to read their blog post linked below.
