Use Plain Milk Carton for Waterless Pouring
Spouts, pitchers, batter scoops and other tools make it easy to pour liquid into the tiny container. But you don’t need to spend money on it. Just grab the waxed milk carton, peel it out and you’re good to go.
Food52’s Alice Medrich even used this little trick to fill 100 glasses with mousse. Here’s what you do:
Open the entire top of the box, not just the spout, by pulling it apart. Wash and dry, then cover with the resulting mixture. Without closing the spout, secure the top of the container with a large paper clip. Pour out gently, holding the spout with the index finger of your free hand, keeping an eye on the container underneath. Cut off the flow with your finger as soon as the glass or container is filled to the desired level.
Medrich advises against using the staples to secure the top as they can fall into the food and because you will still want to reuse the cardboard box.
