Republic Wireless to Add More Android Phones and Speed up Networking

Republic Wireless is your favorite mobile operator . Their only limitation was their choice of phone. Previously, only the Moto X, Moto E, or Moto G could be purchased in Republic. This will change in July. They connect even more phones to the network at higher speeds.

In a press release, Republic Wireless announced that from July, customers can bring their own new or used versions of the following Android devices:

  • Moto X Pure Edition
  • Google Nexus 6P from Huawei
  • Google Nexus 5X by LG
  • Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016)
  • Samsung Galaxy S6
  • Samsung Galaxy S7
  • Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

They also announced that these devices will have access to “the new nationwide GSM operator with the fastest nationwide 4G LTE network.” They did not name the operator, but said they would continue to work with Sprint.

The Republic is known for its affordable, non-contractual plans . Their “small” plan is probably their most popular option: unlimited calls and text messages with 1GB of data for $ 25 a month. I’ve tested these in the past and the speed was decent (even on the Sprint network) and the plan worked well in my situation (I work from home so I mostly use Wi-Fi). However, there are other options available if you are using more or less data. Their only drawback was the limited number of phone options, but even so, they were favorites among budget-conscious buyers.

If you’ve thought about switching to a cheaper carrier and can work with any of its Android variants, check them out here and then read the rest of their press release at the link below.
