Sit-Stand Cubby Workspace

Maybe you like to sit while you work, or you prefer to stand, or maybe you like flexibility in both, as the Jayson S does with this sitting / standing workspace. It sits in a secluded nook that has plenty of room for both as well as some podcast recording and room to post and get work done.

In the picture above, the desk is high, with soundproofing panels on the walls on either side of the desk to muffle sound and echo enough for Jason to record with the microphone on the left. He offers a full list of his gear on Flickr:

Added a new router (ASUS RTAC68U) and a Yeti stereo microphone since my last post.

Sound absorbing foam panels have also been installed to improve acoustics. …

When he would have preferred to sit down, there was the same space in the sitting position – in fact, the table is just below:

Since the IKEA Bekant table can be adjusted electronically, all he has to do is press a button when he wants to change position and the table will go up or down to its preferred position. It’s a simple thing, but it works well, and with enough cable slack, anything on top and bottom of the table looks good.

If you have your own workspace to show off, share it with us by adding it to our Lifehacker Workspace Show and Tell Flickr pool . Make sure all photos you add are at least 1280×720 in size. Maintaining their 16: 9 aspect ratio also helps! Include a little text about what you used, how you came up with the design, and any other important details. If your smart organization and good design flair are striking, you could be the next workplace ambassador!
