Keep Mushrooms Fresh Longer by Storing Them in an Open Paper Bag
For most of us, keeping fresh food in the refrigerator usually involves plastic bags, plastic wrap, or an airtight plastic container. When it comes to mushrooms, this is a bad idea.
Shil Prakash from The Kitchn explains that such confined spaces are actually too humid for mushrooms. If you store them there, your mushrooms will become soft and moldy much faster. Instead, Prakash suggests storing them in an open paper bag in the main compartment of the refrigerator. This will provide the necessary air circulation, and the bag itself will absorb excess moisture.
