An Easy Way to Practice on the Streets and Gain Confidence in Mountain Biking

If you’re only comfortable on good, level roads, the rocks and roots of mountain bike trails can be daunting. Get in the wheel: While it can take a lot of practice to master, you can easily get started by jumping on something as simple as a curb.

Professional rider and trainer Lindsay Voires lays out a step-by-step process for newcomers to cycling. First, you probably already know that you can use your hands to lift the front wheel to get over a small obstacle.
