Backblaze B2 Leaves Beta Offering Insanely Cheap NAS Attached Cloud Storage
If you do not have the habit regularly perform data backup, do it now . Cloud storage company Backblaze made this easy with insanely cheap storage space you can plug directly into your NAS, and more.
Backblaze B2 , which has just come out of beta , offers cloud storage for the price of a halfpenny per gigabyte. The first 10GB even comes free. The service works similarly to Amazon Glacier at half price. B2 is for developers and even includes an API that lets you back up files and folders using the command line. However, you can also use it to connect to your NAS storage (as shown in the video above) to keep safe copies of all your files off-site.
Re-uploading data costs $ 0.05 per GB, which means you won’t want to use it to replace Dropbox anytime soon. Think of Backblaze B2 as a digital safe where you can store your backups for a long time without worrying about them. You don’t want to go into your safe every day, but you will be glad if you ever lose your data.
