Three Tips to Cut Down on Clutter in Magazines
If you still enjoy reading non-digital magazines, you probably know that they can be a hindrance if left unaddressed. Beautiful photos, glossy pages, and book form make it easy to snap to. These tips will help you trim your collection while preserving what you love.
In this YouTube video Clean My Space, host Melissa Maker shares all kinds of great cleaning tips, including several ways to reduce your print inventory. Here’s the three-part strategy she recommends:
- Make a reading plan. In magazines and journals often a mess, because you do not have time to read them. Set aside time for reading every day, such as in the morning while you are drinking your coffee, so that you can gradually work on it.
- Cut and save what you like: read the article that you really liked ? Or find the recipe you want to keep? Don’t hold onto the entire magazine, cut out the pages and paste them into a folder so the rest can be thrown away.
- Think of other people who will like them: maybe your friend wants to read the article you told him about. Or maybe your doctor’s or dentist’s office needs new reading material.
It’s easier to say goodbye to things when you know they’ll find use elsewhere.
