Rest of the Day: Swiftmoji Suggests Emoji Based on What You Type
SwiftKey has a new smart emoji keyboard for iOS and Android called Swiftmoji . The app offers you emojis that you can use depending on what you are typing. In my lyrics, of course, there is nothing but smiles and hearts.
So, for example, if you are writing to someone about summer vacations, you may be offered palm trees and cocktails. While it’s a bit silly indeed, the Android version has most of the features you’d expect from a SwiftKey, so you can just use it like a regular keyboard. [SwiftKey]
- In other news, BBC iPlayer Radio is now available in the US. The app, which was originally released in 2012 for UK listeners, is now available on iOS and Android and you can use it to listen to all of the BBC’s radio broadcasts as well as download their podcasts. You might already have listened to their radio broadcasts on the Internet, but it’s a good idea to have a built-in app. [TechCrunch]
- KickassTorrents is down after the arrest of its alleged owner by the US authorities. IsoHunt has already created a working KAT mirror with torrents over the past year, but this is just a temporary measure. Update: The mirrors are not actually from IsoHunt . [TorrentFreak & Venture Beat]
- You can now embed Periscope streams on your blog, website, or wherever you like. Periscope is, of course, a Twitter-owned service with which you can stream live video from your phone. [The Verge]
