These No-Bake Energy Bars Look Delicious and Are Super Easy to Make
Making homemade energy bars can be as simple or difficult as you want, and this recipe is as simple as possible. With a few ingredients, your trusty food processor, and a few minutes in the refrigerator for hardening, you have a snack to enjoy at home or on the go.
The video above shows the recipe and instructions, but for those who can’t watch, here’s a summary from YouTube’s Mumsnet channel:
INGREDIENTS 200 g medjool dates (pitted) 150 g regular dates (pitted) 200 g cashews 100 g chocolate chips
METHOD 1. Grind the cashews in the sandwich bag using a rolling pin 2. Blitz dates in a food processor, then add cashews and chocolate chips – blitz again 3. Place the mixture in a shallow baking dish lined with parchment paper, thickening it as much as possible so it doesn’t fall apart. Chill in refrigerator for 20 minutes. 4. Slice and serve 🙂
They also point out that if you want something less sweet or no refined sugar, you can always just ditch the chocolate chips and leave it as it is. Fast, simple and ready in minutes. The only tricky part is figuring out what to do for half an hour while the grates are set in the refrigerator.
