Fall Asleep Early by Setting an Alarm Before Bed
If you want to stop hitting the snooze button every morning, you need to go to bed early. Setting an alarm for the night will remind you to get to work, no matter how preoccupied you are.
I always try to go to bed early, but more often than not in the evening I do something that distracts me until it is literally too late. I pick up my phone after watching TV or playing games and realize I’ve messed up my plan to get a good start the next day. This is why Fast Company ’s Laura Vanderkam recommends setting an alarm for bedtime. It’s like an alarm clock, but instead of waking up, it tells you to get comfortable, read a book, and relax for the night. If you are using a phone, set the alarm to also contain a useful message. Remind yourself how nice it is to wake up refreshed , or give yourself a reason to look forward to waking up in the morning, such as having a great cup of coffee or spending some personal time before work. And consider using a different alarm sound than the one you use in the morning.
