The Easiest Way to Fold a Stretched Sheet

Folding a stretched sheet may seem like magic that only a few can do, but it is surprisingly easy. We’ve shown you how to do this before , but this video will walk you through it step by step so you can do it right, beautifully and easily every time.

First, grab the corners of the sheet from above – if you’re trying to fold a fitted sheet, you’re probably already holding it, so this should be the easiest part. Later:

  1. Grasp two corners of the sheet and pull them at arm’s length. The hands should still be on the inside, which means that the sheet will be turned inside out.
  2. Bend one of the corners you are holding over the other and wrap it around the arm that is still holding the corner.
  3. Grasp the third corner with your free hand. Tuck it in a ball and hold it with the same hand that you hold the other two.
  4. We do the same with the fourth corner. At this stage, you must grip all four corners with one hand, while this hand must be completely covered by the sheet.
  5. Line up the loose edges and place everything on a flat surface such as a table or bed.
  6. Fold it in half lengthwise and crosswise into a neat square.

That’s all. It’s really about folding the corners into your hand so that you don’t try to fold the corners into the center, but rather fold the loose fabric into the corners. The video above is a compelling demo that’s easy to follow, so watch it above or click the link below to watch it on YouTube.
