T-Mobile Updates Details of Its New Unlimited Plan, Which Is Now More Confusing
Earlier this month, T-Mobile announced a new unlimited data plan with the caveat that speed and quality will be limited to prevent HD quality, and hotspot speeds have been significantly reduced. Now T-Mobile has cleared up a few things, changed some speeds, and added a new, more confusing detail.
The new unlimited plan will still limit your video quality to 480p, but the hotspot data will now be 3G instead of 2G. The first line will still cost $ 70 per month.
The original Unlimited plan came with an “HD add-on” where you could pay an extra $ 25 per month to get HD video. They’ve now replaced that with two separate plans: the T-Mobile ONE Plus plan and the T-Mobile ONE HD day pass. The day pass lets you unlock HD speed for 24 hours for $ 3. The T-Mobile ONE Plus plan still costs $ 25 per month and gives you unlimited HD day passes. We assume this means that you will need to go through the daily pass initialization process every 24 hours in order to use it. Anchor hotspots also increase 4G speeds.
The plans will be available on September 1st.
