If you spend a lot of time on your bike, you will spend a lot of time locked in a comfortable position. Otherwise, you may experience pain or, more likely, numbness.

Cyclist and trainer Paraik McGlynn tells Bicycling that tuning your bike can solve most of the common problems that lead to body parts falling asleep. If, for example, your hands go numb, check to see if the steering wheel is too far forward. The cause of numbness in the legs is the same as numbness in the groin – an unsuitable or incorrectly adjusted seat. And if your toes are numb, you may need a different pair of sneakers.
