Chromebook Gets PIN Unlocked in Latest Builds of Chrome OS for Canary
Currently, if you want to add a lock screen to your Chromebook, you either need to use your Google password (which should be long ) or connect it to your smartphone. Soon, you will be able to use a PIN instead.
As news site OMG Chrome found out, the latest version of Canary for Chrome OS, which features only the most recent updates, now gives users the option to unlock with a PIN instead of a password. Of course, this only applies to the lock screen. The first time you boot your computer, you will need to enter your account password, but you don’t have to do it again every time you close the lid.
If you don’t feel adventurous enough to try out Canary builds that are experimental and subject to change, you can wait until this feature hits your device in the near future. While features may change in Canary builds, this is such a necessary addition that it is unlikely to be reversed entirely.
