This DIY Dog Toy Will Keep Your Pet Entertained for Hours
Interesting toys are great if you have a dog with endless energy that you want to tire both mentally and physically. On the other hand, this DIY toy uses simple supplies and will keep your pet busy for hours with little effort on your part.
This toy is not only fun but also easy to enlarge or shrink depending on your dog’s size. You will need three plastic bottles, a metal post, a wooden post, a couple of pieces of wood, four screws, wood glue, and a drill. Create a bottle holder by gluing three pieces of wood together, one for the bottom and two for the sides. Attach a wooden rod to the top of the stand for added stability and ease of movement. Drill holes on either side of the bottles where they begin to protrude, then slide the bottles over the metal bar and attach it to the middle of the stand. You can screw wooden rectangles to the outside of the frame to keep the metal post from sticking out at the sides.
When the glue is dry, add a handful to each bottle. Your dog will be busy figuring out how to get the food piece by piece. Although this is a toy with no hands, you should watch your dog to avoid chewing on plastic bottles, destroying the toy, or risking injury. Watch the video above to see how it works.
