How to Uninstall and Reinstall Stock Apps in IOS 10
Almost since the introduction of the iPhone, users have been asking to remove standard Apple apps from their iOS devices. With iOS 10, you can finally do it.
In fact, apps are not uninstalled the way you think they are, they are mostly hidden. So, if you’re trying to get a little extra space, it won’t help ( Apple claims that all apps are around 150MB anyway ). However, if you’re tired of hiding this Tips app deep in your folder, now you never have to see it again.
To uninstall a built-in application, you follow the same process as for uninstalling any other application. Press and hold an app icon until it starts wiggling, then press X to remove it. You can uninstall the following applications:
- Calculator
- The calendar
- Compass
- Contacts
- Facetime
- Find my friends
- Home
- iBooks
- iCloud Drive
- ITunes store
- Cards
- Music
- news
- Notes (edit)
- Podcasts
- Reminders
- Stock
- Advice
- Video
- Voice Notes
- Viewer application
- Weather
To restore an app, just go to the App Store, find the app you uninstalled, and tap the cloud icon. It will immediately appear on your home screen.
