Samsung May Limit Your Note 7’s Battery With an Update If You Don’t Replace It

According to the Associated Press, Samsung issued a statement in a South Korean newspaper warning users in that country that their battery life would be limited to 60% unless they donate their phones to buy new, non-explosive phones. The idea is that users who refuse to trade their phones for updated, more secure models will be annoyed by this.
Samsung has not yet confirmed whether it plans to roll out this update in other parts of the world. Quite possibly not.
