Use a Raspberry Pi to Power an LED Search Engine
Do you have a bunch of records (or books, games, or any other medium on the shelf)? Then you’ll want to check out the organizational project of Hackaday user Mike Smith, which allows him to find a specific entry using the wattage of LED lights.
The idea here is simple. Smith searches for the record and the LEDs come on to show him exactly where it is. Obviously there is a lot of preparation here to get him ready, but the end result is a pretty awesome system for finding what he needs. The project uses a Raspberry Pi, a set of LED strips, and a few other parts. While this assembly is specifically designed to keep track of records, there is no reason why it shouldn’t be used for anything else. Of course, this is a difficult project, but on Hackaday you will find all kinds of help.
