Hold a Plastic Sandwich Bag in Your Hand When Slicing Peppers.
If you cook often with hot peppers, you know that protecting your hands with gloves helps keep your hands (and whatever you touch) from getting burned for hours afterwards. If you don’t have gloves, a plastic bag will help.
You will need a bag that is thin and flexible enough to hold a knife through. Plastic wrap also works as a last resort. You can just use one for your hand to hold the pepper, or you can take two bags and punch a hole in the bottom or corner of one so the knife can go through. Place the second bag on your hand that you will be using to handle the chopped peppers and then you are ready to go. Carefully remove the bags, with one hand with the bag pull the bag from the hand with the knife and discard. Then, carefully remove the bag from your other hand and discard them. No fuss, no burning.
