Your Photo Is the Reason for the Refusal to Issue a Passport

Passport photo issues are the main reason for rejection of applications, which sucks if you need a passport quickly, you’ve already booked this trip, or don’t want to deal with the headache of re-applying. Here are five things you can do to get your passport photo accepted.

As with any application, you only need to submit it once, so here’s what you can do to reduce the likelihood of your passport being denied due to your photo.

  • Look natural , from your smile to your outfit and even to the amount of makeup you put on in a photo, strive to look the way you would on a day-to-day basis, not more dressy.
  • Don’t wear glasses . Photographs with glasses will not be accepted after November 1, 2016.
  • Use a white or cream background and keep the background simple and flat.
  • Submit a photo taken in the last six months . If you’ve recently cut your hair, use a photo of your new hair.
  • Do not wear headphones or visible wireless devices in the photo.

All of these may seem easy to do, but they are also easy to mess up. To learn about the most common mistakes when applying for a passport and how to avoid them, follow the link below.
