Stimulate Your Creativity With Weekly Artist Dating

Whether you are a writer, artist or photographer, creativity needs to be nurtured. If you want to avoid the artist’s dead end, take the time to think and study.

In Julia Cameron’s book, The Artist ‘s Way, she recommends setting up a “date with the artist” once a week. It can be whatever you like as long as it makes you think and gives you time for ideas to filter into your mind. And it’s best if you enjoy those few hours every week alone . You can go to the beach, go to a museum, indulge in a delicious dinner, or do what I do and just go for a long walk while listening to music that moves you. Sometimes, you just need to change scenery to get the creative juices flowing again.
