This Ingredient Weight Chart Will Make Your Baked Goods Even Better.

Weighing ingredients gives the most accurate, reproducible (and delicious) results (especially when baking), but not all recipes are measured by weight. Fortunately, King Arthur Flour has compiled a handy weight chart for a wide variety of ingredients.

Click the link below for a full list of conversions (it’s huge ), but some of the more useful ones are:

  • Unbleached all-purpose flour: 1 cup = 4 1/4 ounces = 120 grams
  • Self-growing flour: 1 cup = 4 ounces = 113 g
  • Baking powder: 1 teaspoon = 4 grams
  • Baking soda: 1/2 teaspoon = 3 grams
  • Butter: 1/2 cup = 1 stick = 4 ounces = 113 grams
  • Sugar (white granular): 1 cup = 7 ounces = 198 grams

Just find your ingredient on the list, convert the volume to mass measurement using the values provided, and follow the rest of the recipe as usual without wondering if your scoop and scraping technique is right.
