Get Started Right Away With a New Boss, Helping Them Achieve Early Wins

The new boss can be intimidating. If you want to break the ice and get on the right foot, help them adjust to their new situation with a few quick and easy wins.

Michael Watkins, author of The First 90 Days , suggests to the Harvard Business Review that you should focus on getting your new boss to act faster. Put yourself in their shoes and think about ways to make them feel more comfortable and in control:

You might say, “Look, here are some low hanging fruit that you can focus on, some things that haven’t been resolved that could have a significant impact in a short period of time.”

This will show your new boss that you are a team player and ready to help. You don’t have to overdo it and suck up to them. Just let them know about easy wins and offer your help if they want to. You will establish a good relationship immediately.
