Build Your Own Miniature Linux Laptop for Less Than $ 100
While you can install Linux on just about anything, older tablets are probably the cheapest way to do it. Case in point: Node has put together a guide that turns a Nexus 7 tablet into a miniature laptop.
This process uses an old Nexus 8 tablet, a 7-inch keyboard case, a USB port, a USB plug, and some thin plastic or cardboard. You’ll start by installing Ubuntu on a Nexus, and then simply bundle everything else into a case to resemble a laptop. It’s a clever little attempt at repurposing an old tablet, and once you get used to the tiny keyboard, it looks pretty darn usable. Go to Node for a complete guide.
