Transform “extra” Champagne Into Delicious Frozen Granita
I know that only the losers get this thing called “leftover champagne”, but if, due to extreme circumstances, you find that you have a “bonus” champagne, you can turn it into a very refreshing and tasty granita.
In fact, you can make granita with any wine or beer, not just sparkling wine. Just mix a cup of leftover booze with 1/4 cup plus two tablespoons of water and three tablespoons of sugar. Stir everything together, transfer to a shallow baking dish and place in the freezer until almost frozen. Whisk it lightly with a fork to make lots of ice crystals and put it back in the freezer. After freezing, pour into the serving compartment (if you want to stick with the champagne theme) and enjoy.
