Give Yourself a Boost by Setting a “day of Idleness” on Your Calendar
Taking care of yourself isn’t just a reward, it’s part of the process. Taking breaks helps you focus and get back to work with a fresh perspective, so sometimes idleness is the most productive thing you can do . Force yourself to recharge by setting “Do Nothing Day”.
We all know how important it is to take a break, but in A Serial Life, writer Anna Weisend argues for actually planning that downtime:
Pick a day in January. It can be a weekend or a day off and add it to the calendar. You know, if you don’t put it on the calendar, it’ll be put aside … If it’s on your calendar, you have to.
If you aren’t actually drawing during this time, you will most likely fill it up with the week’s remaining tasks or other errands. This is important too, but we often neglect taking care of ourselves for too long, and “Do nothing for a day” forces you to press the reset button. Read more in the publication at the link below.
