Notion Teaches Your Amazon Echo to Read Your Emails, Respond and Interact in Real Time

Android / iOS / Echo: Inspired by the way the people at Star Trek talk to the onboard computer, Notion is designed to teach your Amazon Echo to read your emails out loud and give you the freedom to completely free your hands anywhere in the house. a way to reply, snooze notifications, and check messages.

The video above is a great demonstration of what Notion is capable of, but it’s worth noting that this project is still a favorite and very early stage in its development. However, it has some great features like the ability to sync with other devices and easy installation on the Echo, as well as the fact that it can detect which messages are “important” in your inbox and read them to you. rather than just reading everything you have, which the developers say (and I agree) would be the complete opposite. How they rate what’s important and what’s not is related to the context and native tokens of your email app depending on how often you interact with the sender or how important it is, although the developers say Notion uses “personalized intelligence” for this. so take it for what you will be.

In addition, you can ask Alexa if there is someone waiting for you to reply to them, who you recently met by email (for example, who introduced you or who recently invited you to chat), and you can snooze messages. for the future is a great in-app feature that can get overwhelming depending on how many messages you receive. You can even set your Do Not Disturb clock or lock your inbox with a PIN so someone else can’t just ask Echo to read your email.

However, the app has some drawbacks, such as the fact that Echo does not support notifications, so you need to know that you received a message or want to hear your messages in order to think in order to ask about them. Plus, Notion is simply a linking technology between Amazon Alexa services and your inbox, so you’ll need to give it access to both your mail and devices and your Echo in order for it to work. Likewise, expect more than a few typos and misspellings in your sent messages – the text-to-speech conversion is by no means perfect, and if subtitles in YouTube videos are any indication, you might run into a couple of “sorry auto-correct” you have a chance to pick up the phone again.

At the same time, Notion functions, which is a big step forward on the way to being, to give all the desired Star Trek experience of smart home hub, and it’s available right now. Follow the links below to try it out or learn more.
