Rocket Makes It Easy to Find Slack-Style Emoji on Mac
We’ve seen several different ways to add Slack-style emoji search to your Mac , but Rocket is probably the easiest way to do it.
Unlike other tools we’ve seen, Rocket is a common app that integrates very well into macOS. Once set up, just enter a colon, enter the name of the emoticon, then hit the return key when you have the emoticon you want. If you use colon a lot and don’t want the search to appear every time you use it, you can customize a key or block Rocket from working in specific applications. It’s much more convenient than pressing Control + Command + Space, and the search works much better on load.
