Use This Rule to Set up Undo Send in Outlook
Gmail makes it easy to undo the sending of an email , but it’s less intuitive in Outlook. The good news is that this is possible, it only takes a couple of extra steps.
As PCMag points out, you need to set up a rule in Outlook to delay delivery of your emails. They explain:
- Go to File> Manage Rules and Alerts> New Rule.
- Look here under “Start with an Empty Rule”. Select “Apply rule to messages I send.” Do not add any other rules (ie. Leave the checkboxes blank).
- Under the list of actions, select “postpone delivery for a certain number of minutes.” You can delay delivery up to 120 minutes, but that is too long. I recommend 1 minute, so enter “1” (or how many minutes you want) where “amount” is indicated.
From there, you just save and name the rule and of course, be sure to include it for it to work. After you set all this up, the message stays in your Outbox until the delay times out. Microsoft explains how it works in the link below, and you can head over to PC Mag for more information.
