Make Your Kitchen Look Like New Again With This Cleaning Mode

If your stove is covered in burnt, baked food, it’s time to clean it thoroughly. Here’s how.

In this video from YouTube channel Consumer Reports, Dan Diclerico demonstrates a simple deep cleaning of a cooker. Here’s what you need to do to make it look perfect:

  1. Remove the grills and rings of the burner, then wash them in hot soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry to prevent rusting. If your grates are really bad, place them in an airtight plastic bag with 1/4 cup of ammonia solution overnight.
  2. Clean the surfaces around the burners with a damp sponge and mild detergent. Clean clogged burners with a safety pin.
  3. Wipe down all handles and controls. If they are removable, remove them for easy cleaning and wipe the area behind them.
  4. Remove the grates from the oven and wash them in hot soapy water. If they fit in the dishwasher, you can wash them there. Wipe the inside of the oven with a sponge and remove any stubborn stains by covering the surface with a damp cloth for a few minutes before wiping.
  5. Wipe the inside and outside of the glass door with a damp cloth.
  6. Clean any stainless steel with a suitable stainless steel cleaner and paper towel. Be sure to brush the pattern, not on it.

And for the last step, just put it all together and your range is ready to go. If you haven’t cleaned your stove for a long time, this process can take you a long time. But once you’ve done one deep clean, you’ll set the stage for an ultra-light deep clean every couple of weeks or so.
