Yelp Just Launched Its Own Cash Back Program
Yelp may be a hit or miss , but it comes in handy when you want to answer the age-old question: Where should we eat? They recently added an incentive: Yelp Cash Back. This is your standard reward program that saves you up to ten percent in restaurants.
Once you sign up for the service, you will link your credit and debit cards, and every time you use that card with a participating company, you will automatically receive a cash refund for your purchases. When you search on Yelp, you can now see which restaurants and retail stores are offering this bonus, as shown in the screenshot above.
In a blog post, Yelp reported:
Today, Yelp Cash Back is available in a variety of restaurants and bars in the US through our partnership with Empyr . There are tons of great options in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Chicago, and other cities. Just search “Cash Back” on Yelp to find someone nearby. We will be adding new business types shortly so that Yelpers can receive cash rewards for even more types of local purchases.
The program is not available for online ordering and food delivery. Of course, in order to use the program, you must link your credit cards, which means that your credit card issuer will share the details of the transaction with Yelp. When it comes to security, Yelp claims to follow “generally accepted industry standards,” but does not specify what those standards are. However, you can read their full terms here and their privacy policy here.
