The Rest of the Day: Yahoo Answers on IOS
Yahoo has a new iOS app called Yahoo Answers Now that lets you ask your questions and get answers from people with the right knowledge. Our prayers were finally answered by Yahoo.
- Sure, the old Yahoo Answers site has a reputation for asking unusual questions with even more distinctive answers (like “how is babby [sic] formed?”), But this new app isn’t just a shell for old conversations. Rather, it is a completely new experience that will supposedly send your queries to “qualified respondents”. [Yahoo]
- In other news, Verizon is refusing to release a software update from Samsung that would completely disable the Samsung Galaxy Note 7’s ability to charge. The phone has been recalled, of course, but as Verizon says, disconnecting devices could pose a threat to those who currently have no choice but to use the Galaxy Note 7. [The Verge]
- Professional chat platform Slack is working with Google to further integrate Google Drive. For example, when you share a link to a Google Drive file in Slack, it automatically changes permissions so that your colleagues in Slack can access the file. [Slack Blog]
- Facebook is finally adding HD video to its Android version of its app. The function is fancifully late; IOS users can download HD videos for about two years. They are also testing a floating video window to keep watching Facebook videos while you are using other apps. [Police Android via The Next Web ]
