Toolbox Helps You Join Beta Testing and Download APKs From Google Play

Chrome: The web version of the Google Play Store is handy, but after all these years it still lacks some features. Toolbox for Google Play Store helps fix many minor issues to make your apps easier to use.

Toolbox, created by the Android Police site, offers tons of user-friendly customizations. In particular, besides the Install button, you will also see the APK Mirror button. This site (which is also owned by Android Police) hosts the APKs of the apps that may not have been downloaded yet. This is especially handy if you are downloading an unpublished application that is not yet available to everyone. You will also see buttons for AppBrain (an alternative way to explore the Play Store) and Android Police coverage for that app, if one exists.

The extension will also show you if a beta version of the app is available. Many companies are launching beta programs for their apps to test new features before they become available to everyone, but you have to look for them yourself. This extension will now show you a handy link where you can subscribe to the beta and download the most advanced version right away.

Best of all, you can disable any Toolbox feature individually. So, if you don’t know or don’t care what AppBrain is, you can disable this button in the extension options. The extension is pretty simple at the moment, but some of the features it has are pretty handy.
