Creating a healthy habit takes time. You need to know why you want to achieve a certain goal. Then each day it takes conscious and consistent action to take hold. Instead of cluttering yourself with a common goal, try breaking your habit into “daily activities”. Here’s how.
Action per Day (APD) is a game of “action per minute,” a video game term that describes the superhuman amount of action that professional Starcraft players take to get closer to victory. For our purposes, we will measure the activities we take during the day that bring us closer to our fitness goal. This could be things like weighing in , going to the gym, going for a walk, choosing a healthy lifestyle in a restaurant, trying a new food or activity, and so on. Each of these counts as one action. Set a target APD for the week, measure your actions this week, and set a goal to gradually increase the number of APDs week by week, until all this becomes secondary to you.

Some of the actions you take will become familiar. It can be difficult to start running or eating vegetables, but in the end it will be as easy as shelling pears. These are the best ways to accumulate action, because while they can be difficult at first, they get easier and easier until they even stop working.
