Verizon Will Disable Unlimited Data Users Averaging 200GB Per Month
If you are one of the lucky few who has managed to store unlimited amounts of Verizon data for years, you know the company hates it. They will now start downloading you if you process more than 200GB of data per month on average.
Ironically, this is kind of good news for an unlimited number of Verizon customers. Back in July last year, it was reported that the company would shut off unlimited users who burn 100GB of data per month . However, a new Droid-Life report cites material provided by Verizon employees, which says users will be disconnected if they average 200GB or more on average. So, compared to the previous policy, this is actually a step forward.
However, this is still the “limit” of the supposedly unlimited plan. Of course, you will have to work pretty hard to not only accumulate 200 GB every month, but also to maintain this average level from month to month. It’s unclear what time frame Verizon takes into account when calculating these averages, but if you’re still sticking to your unlimited data plan it might be best not to check it out.
