Rest of the Day: YouTube Stops 30-Second Unmissable Ads
YouTube will be phasing out the must-have 30-second pre-roll ad. Sounds like good news! They say they want to focus on other, more compelling ad formats, but there will still be 15 and 20 second ads that shouldn’t be missed. About this and much more in today’s news.

- In addition to the recent Twitter temporary bans imposed on attackers , they also stop conversation notifications that include your username if you’ve blocked or muted the person who started the thread . You will only see responses from people you follow. [Twitter]
- Microsoft has postponed its usual “patch Tuesday” when they release security patches , citing a “last minute issue.” Instead, they just wait until next month to release new patches. [Microsoft via The Verge ]
- Blissy, one of the more recent additions to Pokémon Go , appears to be a beast that is slowly taking over gyms. This little round buddy just has a lot of health, he can take damage like a tank. [Kotaku]
Facebook now displays the source of its stories in the Trends widget. At least they are on my Facebook; It is of course possible that this is just a test and they can test different widgets with different users. See screenshot on the left.
