Here Is a List of People and Companies That Will Match Your Donation to the ACLU
If you are planning to donate to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) , an organization that helps defend our constitutional rights and freedoms, you can also double your support for free. Matching Donations is a website that lists people who will match your ACLU donation.
The site maintains a list of public figures, companies and individuals who have pledged to donate any money you donate to the ACLU publicly via Twitter. Matching Donations also provides a link where you can easily share your donation receipts with these donors online. Creator Alexander Murek explained via Product Hunt:
After seeing so many people on Twitter helping the victims of the Muslim ban, I wanted to help the Americans. I’ve seen lawyers use their knowledge to help them. I’m not a lawyer, but I can code. People like Patrick Collinson make appropriate donations to the ACLU, but he is not alone. I knew I could help people, organizations like the ACLU, raise money by collecting people who make appropriate donations.
MatchUS , a similar site, lets you share your receipts automatically. You just upload the file anonymously and they send it to donors on your behalf.
Obviously, you want to leave out personal or financial information when you copy receipts or take screenshots of them. Just enter your confirmation number and the amount you donated. You can read more about how this process works here . Follow the link below to check the site and start searching.
