NameCheckr Finds Out If Your Name Is Available on Dozens of Sites
When you come up with a new name for a site (or just for yourself on the web), it sucks when you find that some sites have taken it up. NameCheckr searches dozens of sites at once to see if your name is free.
To use it, just follow the link below and enter the username you want to check. It will then search dozens of social networking sites, as well as website names with domains including .com, .net, .org, and .io. If the name is available, you will see a green check mark. Otherwise, you will see a red circle with a forward slash.
This is especially useful if you want to build a website or company. Even if the domain name is available, you can easily pass out if half of the social networks you need are attached to you. Of course, you can always negotiate with the person who owns it, but if you can easily get a name that is available everywhere it will save you a lot of trouble.
