You Can Now Clean up Unnecessary Storage on the Twitter App for IPhone
iPhone: Twitter has released an update to the official Twitter app that addresses the annoying app bloat issue. You can now manually clear the cache in the app.
Many iOS apps have the problem of bloating with use, which can cause problems for those of us with 16GB phones. The best workaround I’ve found for this involves downloading a giant app to force iOS to clear the cache for all of your apps, but if more apps include the clear cache option it will be a little easier to tweak this process. Here’s how to get to it on the Twitter app:
- Press the “Me” button.
- Tap the settings icon (gear icon).
- Tap Settings> Data Usage.
- Tap either media storage or web storage to be able to clear the cache. Media Storage is Twitter’s shared storage, web storage remains from any websites you visit on the Twitter app.
As always, you can also go to Settings> Shared Storage & iCloud Usage> Manage Storage to see what other apps are wasting storage.
